How to commission a portrait of your BFF - Best Fur Friend
I would be honoured to paint your pet’s portrait. It is a great responsibility to capture a companion animal’s personality on canvas. A portrait serves as a reminder of just how special your bond with your pet is. It could be a gift to your partner or yourself. Perhaps you are considering a memorial portrait of an animal friend who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I would be thrilled to provide this special present.
A good photograph or two
To paint your pet’s portrait, I will need a good quality, in-focus photo that shows off their personality. While I will use one photo as the main reference for the portrait, you can send me additional photos to help me get a better understanding of your pet.
Photos in natural light with your pet as the focal point are great. Those with your pet looking into the camera at pet eye-level are the best. I feel those poses provide the most intimate portraits. The more detail I can see in the photo, the more of their personality I can put into the painting and the better the result will be.
Decide on style and size of portrait
To decide on the size and framing option for your painting, go to our Pet Portrait Collection. All finished products are ready to hang and have free shipping. You can choose from portraits printed on canvas wrapped around a wooden internal frame or portraits printed on paper and framed traditionally.
Each type comes in both 12” by 16” and 16” by 20” sizes. If these sizes won’t work with your space, additional sizes can be special-ordered.
Checking out
After you've made your size and style choice, add it to the shopping cart and check out. The prices on the website reflect one animal per portrait. There is an extra charge for additional animals in the painting.
Once I receive your order, I will send you a detailed email about next steps and will ask you to attach a photo or photos of your pet.
