Meet the Artist
About Me
I have a background in traditional drawing and watercolour, but had let my artistic side languish while I was doing other work and raising children. My love of making art never went away, particularly art involving animals. When I discovered digital drawing and painting, I found a new method of artistic expression and was immediately hooked.
The name of my company, Obu and Cockeye Designs, comes from the names my children gave their favourite stuffed animals when they were very young.
My Process
Let me paint a portrait of your best fur friend that brings out their unique personality and lovability. I work on an iPad using digital drawing and painting software. I choose to use digital watercolour brushes because I love the transparency and immediateness of traditional watercolour.
Many inexpensive digital pet portraits are just photographs that have been enhanced by computer applications. My pet portrait work is hand-drawn and painted digitally. I use your photo as the starting point for creating one-of-a-kind paintings on my iPad.
